BECOME A LIVE OAK LIFEGUARD!! Lifeguard applications are now available in City Hall, or printed off the city website. If you are 16 years old (see below) or older and would like to become part of an amazing team don’t delay, grab an application today!
There are many wonderful programs and activities that take place year round in the City of Live Oak, with one very popular attraction being the Municipal Swimming Pool. Every year, countless young adults inquire about becoming a Live Oak lifeguard. Summer will be here before you know it, and now is the time to consider obtaining American Red Cross lifeguard certification. Potential lifeguards for the City of Live Oak must be at least 16 years old, and have a current lifeguard certification through the ARC. Job announcements, when available, will be posted on the city website, marquees and at City Hall. EASTER EGG HUNT
Everyone hop on down to the Live Oak Main Park for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 13th. The hunting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the main city park. This is a free event geared towards children 12 years and under. Remember to bring a bag or basket for your child, and don’t forget the camera! Don’t be late, once kicked off, the event is typically over in less than five minutes.
SWIM LESSON REGISTRATION
It’s time to get the kids enrolled in swim lessons! Live Oak boasts one of the most popular programs around with a low student to instructor ratio and highly knowledgeable staff. Registration for children 3-10 years of age will take place on April 21st, 22nd, & 23rd from 4-6 p.m. in the Public Works building. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday for a two week time period, and are 30 minutes long. Check our website (www.liveoaktx.net / Parks & Recreation Department) for times/dates of class sessions. The cost for Live Oak residents is $30.00 per session, and is due at registration. *Please bring proof of residency when registering.*
