The City of Live Oak Economic Development Corporation (LOEDC) is a leading business and community catalyst focused on building economic prosperity in the City and throughout the region.
By developing and implementing programs, the LOEDC will facilitate growth and development of existing companies, as well as, provide the foundation to effectively recruit new companies to the area. The result of these broad and diverse economic development initiatives, will be an increased property and sales tax base for the City of Live Oak, a dynamic economic environment for our business community, and an enhanced quality of life for Live Oak’s residents.

On Monday, February 22, 2016, Mayor Mary Dennis, City Council, EDC Board members and city staff gathered to welcome Moe's Southwest Grill to the City with a ribbon cutting ceremony. We are very proud to have Moe's in Live Oak and look forward to their success. February 16, 2016, City Officials and the owners of FloorMasters of TX gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony. FloorMasters of TX is located at 12107 Toepperwein Road, Ste. 8. SoccerZone Live Oak is finally open and ready for business! The Economic Development Corporation, Mayor Dennis, City Council members and city staff welcomed President, Darren Brown, Manager, Esteban Bayona, Team Captain Evan Brummett and Managing Director, Sarah Berry with a ribbon cutting ceremony, Saturday, October 31st. This state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor facility is host to soccer clubs, basketball, Flag Football, Birthday parties and much more.
The Economic Development Corporation, City Council and city staff proudly presented Concentra with a service recognition plaque for their loyal years of service to the citizens of Live Oak for over 25 years. Concentra is located at 12702 Toepperwein Road, Suite 120 in the IH35 Plaza. Mr. Allen Sexton, Director of Operations and several staff members were present to accept the service plaque. The City is proud to have a national health care company that provides occupational medicine, urgent care and physical therapy to the Live Oak residents and surrounding communities. Starbucks’ much anticipated grand opening was held on September 24th with an official ribbon cutting ceremony held on September 28th for the Pat Booker location. City Officials, staff and members of Economic Development Corporation and Planning & Zoning joined Manager, Clarissa Lopez and her baristas for the ribbon cutting ceremony and all enjoyed a cup of coffee and assorted muffins and scones. So, if you have a coffee connoisseur in the family and are in need of a great holiday gift idea, stop by and shop the Starbucks store for flavorful coffees, teas or the new fall drink ware which are now available.
The Donut Kolache Palace located at 11104 Toepperwein next to Papa John’s Pizza opened their doors at the end of September ready for business. Owner, Amy Tun is eager to serve you handmade tasty donuts of all flavors, hot buttery kolaches, breakfast biscuit sandwiches, breakfast tacos and so much more. Mayor Mary M. Dennis, City staff and Director Sonja Reynolds celebrated the grand opening of Diversity Early Learning Academy with a ribbon cutting ceremony in September. Several members of her staff and family were present for the occasion. The Academy accommodates children from infancy to preschool age groups. Ms. Reynolds also was a recipient of the Visual Improvement Program receiving a $2,000.00 grant for new signage for her building. Congratulations and welcome to Live Oak!
Summer 2015 - The Economic Development Corporation and City staff presented Circle 786 with a service recognition plaques Circle 786’s owner, Asif “Isaac” Punjani and his staff opened their doors in October 1995 at the corner of Leafy Hollow and Toepperwein. We congratulate them for their 20 years of service and wish them many more successful years.
Northeast Methodist Hospital also received a recognition plaque during their 30 year anniversary ceremony held at the end of July. Northeast Methodist Hospital has played a major role in the phenomenal economic growth experience in Live Oak since they opened their doors in 1985.
The Live Oak Economic Development Corporation has begun recognizing the oldest businesses in Live Oak with a plaque presentation.
Mayor Mary M. Dennis and members of the City's Economic Development Commission joined City Staff in presenting a plaque to La Quinta at 12822 IH 35 North for their length in service to the City. La Quinta has been open in the City for 27 years and the Manager Tiffany Berry is a long time resident of Live Oak. La Quinta is in the process of a renovation so stop in and see their new rooms and look at the color scheme for their Lobby.

The Economic Development Corporation continued its tradition of honoring our oldest businesses in Live Oak. Dr. Stanley K. Coss and his wife moved to Live Oak in 1974 and opened Family and Cosmetic Dentistry at 7900 Shin Oak in 1976. Dr. Coss stated that at the time Shin Oak ended at Enchanted Oaks. On Monday, December 17th, members of the Live Oak Economic Development Corporation presented the Future Generations Daycare owner and staff with a plaque in recognition of their 32 years of faithful service and educaiton of the youth of Live Oak. On Monday, September 24th, members of the Live Oak Economic Development Corporation presented The Meadows Apartments, located at 14001 Oak Meadows, with a plaque in recognition of their 38 years of dedicated service to the citizens of the Live Oak community. Visual Improvement Progrm (VIP)
Members of the Economic Development Corporation and City Staff presented a check for the Visual Improvement Program (VIP) to Reptile Pets Direct. The new business located at 8088 Pat Booker, across from the Civic Center, sells reptile pets, products and food. The EDC assisted with the purchase of a new sign for the business. On Monday, September 24th, members of the Live Oak Economic Development Corporation presented a check to Sparkling City Auto Auction for the Visual Improvement Program (VIP). Sparkling City Auto Auction applied for the grant based program to aid in repairing and repainting the exterior of the building and were awarded $2,000.00 for the project.
