Board of Adjustment
The Zoning Board of Adjustment is a board that provides a vehicle for citizens to appeal zoning interpretations and decisions of the Building Official, and request variances from the zoning ordinance. The Board may also make final decisions regarding changes, the reestablishment, or termination of nonconforming uses within the City. The Board currently has four (4) members and two (2) alternate members appointed by the City Council. The Board meets the last Thursday of the month, as needed, at City Hall.
City of Live Oak utilizes the services of citizen volunteers to serve on the City’s Boards and Commissions. Boards and Commissions are integral components of the governance of the City, and therefore require the service of interested individuals who have a passion for service. In order to facilitate these volunteer services, the City has included a link to the application form for service on both the Board of Adjustments and Planning & Zoning Commission.
Whatever your interest may be, the City of Live Oak encourages you to apply. If you are interested in serving on either entity, please complete the application and return it to City Hall, attention Debby Goza, City Secretary. The Planning & Zoning Department serves as the liaison for the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
