Fire

Ready to respond! The Live Oak Fire Department is made up of 26 professional firefighters, fifteen (15) paid and eleven (11) volunteer members. There are normally five (5) firefighters on duty around the clock providing the community with first rate fire protection, emergency medical service, and a good fire rating.

In addition to providing life and property protection, Live Oak Firefighters provide fire prevention classes, residential fire inspections, residential smoke detector cleaning and test and provide educational classes for the children attending our two (2) elementary schools. All of this is provided at no charge (free). Annual Fire Inspections are conducted in all commercial structures thus offering the utmost safety to their employee's and patrons.

The Live Oak Fire Department is always looking for individuals with time available and a willingness to help in the community as a volunteer firefighter. If you have the time, and would like to assist us in our endeavors, please contact Chief Foster, 653-9140, at ext. 242 or attend one of our training sessions held each Wednesday evening at the Fire Station from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm. We do not require that you have previous experience in fire fighting or EMS, just the willingness to help your neighbors. If you do not feel that you have the time to offer the community come by and visit with us any way. We look after and care for each other and our neighbors in Live Oak.
