The City’s Golden 50 Year Celebration - The City of Live Oak is preparing for a 50th Year Birthday Celebration that won’t soon be forgotten. Look forward to joining us on April 9th and 10th for a weekend of food, fun and fireworks.
Friday night, April 9th, starting at 6:30 p.m. Live Oak will be kicking off its celebration with an old fashioned street dance featuring everyone’s favorite band “Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88’s.” There will be food on hand and different activities, to include the burying of a time capsule in front of City Hall and recognition of the City’s oldest and youngest residents. Johnny Dee will play until 11:00 p.m. so come out and help us kick off our celebration on Shin Oak in between City Hall and the new Justice Center.
Saturday, April 10th, the activities will start in the City Park with a Car Show and free breakfast at 8:00 a.m. There will be the traditional bands and family fun at the park all day long, culminating with a patriotic band and fireworks over the City Park Lake. There will be many opportunities to share fun and stories with friends so please make plans to help Live Oak Celebrate its “half a century” birthday.
