Bulk Item Pickup, Fall 2008 - The City of Live Oak will have their Fall Bulk Items Pick-up from September 29th through October 3rd. All discarded items must be placed at the curbside in front of the residence no later than 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29th, 2008. This pick-up is part of your garbage service, which is done twice a year; once in the spring and then in the fall. Items can include old furniture, appliances, brush & limbs, etc. No tires, batteries, or other hazardous materials may be included. Air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, or other appliances containing freon will not be accepted without a certificate from a qualified technician to show all freon has been removed and properly handled.

I you have hazardous material that needs to be picked up, please call the Hazardous Household Waste Hotline at 1-800-449-7587 and they will make arrangements to pick up items such as used motor oil, used oil filters, pesticides/herbicides, paint, flammables, antifreeze, batteries, household chemicals, and electronics.

Waste Management’s pick-up will cover the whole city; going up and down each street only once and they will not return for items put out once the street has been completed. This process could take up to one week to complete.

Please remember not to block mail boxes, cover meter boxes, or set piles of trash under over-hanging trees, or the items will not be picked up.

If you miss this pick-up, the next one will not be until spring 2009. Refer any questions to Lori Logan via e-mail or call her at 653-9140, Ext. 226.
