The Live Oak Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer a variety of programs sure to please everyone, from our youngest residents to our more seasoned community members. Throughout the year we invite the community to take part in these special events: Daddy Daughter Dance, Easter Egg Scramble, Memorial Day Parade, Junior Fishing, Shindig on Shin Oak, Movie in the Park, Halloween Family Night, Arbor Day and Christmas in the Park.

Lifeguard Job Opening/Swim Lesson Registration

The City of Live Oak is hiring lifeguards for the 2020 summer pool season and we want YOU to be a part of the team! As an employee of Live Oak you can enjoy the benefits of flexible hours, great pay and a fun working environment. The City of Live Oak will reimburse up to $200 for those individuals that obtain their American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification and successfully complete the hiring and employment process.

Swim Lesson Registration
Registration for children 3-10 years of age will be held on Tuesday, April 28th from 5-7p.m. in City Hall. Swim lessons will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday for a two week time period, and are 25 minutes long. See the swim lesson schedule for 2020 below, subject to change.
The cost for Live Oak residents is $40.00 per session and is due at registration. Proof of residency with a valid driver's license is required at the time of registration.
- Session 1: June 16th-25th Morning only classes @ 10:30 or 11:00
- Session 2: July 7th-16th Morning classes @ 10:30 or 11:00
- Session 3: July 7th-16th Evening classes @ 7:00 or 7:30
Memorial Day Parade

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2020 Memorial Day Parade!
The event is open to all individuals, businesses, civic groups and any other organizations that are interested in showing off their patriotism during this event. For additional information or to register as a participant in the parade, please contact Cathi Piotrowski at firstname.lastname@example.org. The parade route will travel down Forest Bluff, turn left on Toepperwein, right onto Leafy Hollow, left onto Welcome Dr., right onto Old Spanish Trail and right onto Shin Oak Dr. The grandstand viewing area will be across the street from the Live Oak Pool.
