Special Events

    The Live Oak Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer a variety of programs sure to please everyone, from our youngest residents to our more seasoned community members. Throughout the year we invite the community to take part in these special events: Daddy Daughter Dance, Easter Egg Scramble, Memorial Day Parade, Junior Fishing, Shindig on Shin Oak, Movie in the Park, Halloween Family Night, Arbor Day and Christmas in the Park.

    Girls and boys from 13 years and younger get your rods and reels ready to join us for the Junior Fishing Day on June 3rd from 7:00-11:00 a.m. for a fun filled morning of fishing. How many catfish will you catch? It could very well be the BIG one! All are encouraged to bring their own fishing equipment, however, those without a fishing rod may check one out on site on a first come, first served basis. Adult supervision is required for young children. Adults are not allowed to fish until the event concludes.

    Did you know June 3rd is National Fishing Day? For this one special day a fishing license is not required of anyone. Why not get out soak up some vitamin D and enjoy some fishing!
