The City Manager is the Chief Administrative and Executive Officer for the City working directly under the City Council. The City Manager provides professional management in the day-to-day activities of the City and is responsible for implementing the policies as established by the Mayor and City Council. The City Manager works closely with Department Heads to ensure that the highest level of service is provided to the citizens in a fiscally responsible way.
Anas Garfaoui was appointed City Manager in January of 2024. Prior to serving in Live Oak, he started his municipal career with the City of Katy where he worked in several departments including the City Secretary’s Office, Planning, Public Works and Administration. Anas is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Public Administration and has earned the Certified Public Manager designation from the University of Houston.
