The City of Live Oak Parks and Recreation Department consists of the Park Supervisor, Recreation and Special Events Manager and five additional Parks employees. The Parks Division is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of approximately 100 acres of park land to include the Main City Park, Lakeside and Woodcrest Park. Along with traditional landscape maintenance, the crew oversees all park amenities including four baseball fields, a football field, a skate park and two-18 hole disc golf courses. They work closely with Texas Parks and Wildlife, The Forestry Service and San Antonio River Authority to continue to offer a park system that is unparalleled in this region.
Our Recreation Division serves the citizens of Live Oak and surrounding communities through a variety of programs designed to enhance the quality of life. This office develops and implements all city wide special events to include the Daddy Daughter Dance, Easter Egg Scramble, Memorial Day Parade, Junior Fishing, Movie in the Park, Halloween Family Night, Christmas in the Park and the city festival Shindig on Shin Oak! In addition, the Recreation and Special Events Manager oversees the Municipal Swimming Pool, facility usage, youth sports and is the liaison for civic groups within the city.
